Hey Matadors!! On April 23rd from 6pm to 7:15pm, we will host our annual Matador Madness event in the MV Rallycourt. This event will allow the incoming freshman class to learn more about all of our athletic programs at MV and will allow them to build connections with their desired sports! Congratulations to our second March Athlete of the Month, Courtney Masli! Courtney is a senior and captain on the MV dance team. Courtney’s consistent leadership has guided the team through many challenges such as adjusting to a new coach. Thanks to her incredible guidance, the team has had an outstanding season, including a 5th place finish in Character/Novelty at Nationals and 1st place finish in Medium Jazz at Lincoln High School. Courtney and her teammates also placed 2nd in Medium Jazz and 4th in Character at Cupertino High School. Her role has been key to her team’s success. Congratulations Courtney on an amazing season so far!
Congratulations to our first March Athlete of the Month, Gillie Ross! Gillie is a 3rd year Track and Field senior this year. As a key role in the Monta Vista track team, she is having a great season in both discus and shot put. This season she has scored a discus personal best of 118’ 6’’ and a shot put personal best of 39’ 5’’, making her not only the top thrower on the MVTF team but also 2nd and 4th in CCS for shot put and discus respectively. Congratulations Gillie on an amazing season so far and this well-deserved recognition!

Congratulations to Bhanu, our February Athlete of the Month! As a key playmaker and leader on the field, Bhanu has been instrumental to the team’s success all season long. Throughout the season, he recorded an impressive 5 goals and 10 assists, consistently creating offensive opportunities and elevating the play of those around him. His vision, teamwork, and composure under pressure made him a crucial part of the team. Bhanu’s effort and dedication set the standard and left a lasting impact on the team. Congratulations to Kingston Jourdan who represented Monta Vista football in the 2026 Wedemeyer HS All-Star Football game at LGHS on 1/31. Kingston participated for the North who cruised to a 31-20 victory. Go Mats!
