Congrats to our last January Athlete of the Month Isobel Schweigert!
This is Isobel’s third year on varsity girl’s soccer and 2nd year as a captain for the team. She led her team to victory for the first time in the Silicon Valley cup championship final, which Monta Vista has not been a finalist for in the past 20 years. For her efforts, she was awarded MVP of the tournament both for her leadership and ability on the field as a defensive center-mid. She has contributed both offensively and defensively to the team’s remarkable record of 11-1-2, scoring 5 goals. Her favorite memory from this season so far was beating Cupertino 5-0 and then going out for food with the team at mainstreet afterwards. Isobel is an exceptional player and we hope to see her success continue this season through Monta Vista’s girls soccer team! Go Mats!
Congratulations to our first athlete of January, Jason Leung! Jason is a dedicated member of the Monta Vista Wrestling, devoting all four years to the sport. He has been a standout athlete this season with a 51-14 record. Despite intense matches, Jason’s favorite memories of wrestling come from team practices.
