Monta Vista Field Hockey ties Homestead 0 – 0. The Matadors had an offensive push, maintaining possession and good passes. The game ended with both teams scoreless, forcing the seven minute overtime. MV kept their intensity in the overtime with several close calls for a goal; however, the overall game ended in a tie.

Meet Recap

At Palo Alto HIlls Country Club, the Matadors wrapped up their regular season, hosted by Palo Alto. It was a beautiful day on a tough course. The undefeated Vikings continued to roll today, posting 2 rounds of 38, Monta Vista’s Tiffany Chen carded the team low round of 42, birdieing the final hole. Other Matador golfers: Meg Niu (43), Flo Yang (50), Kate Yiu (51), Sonny Yiu (55), and Makayla Reid (66).

Meet Recap

The Matadors faced the Saratoga Titans on their home turf at Saratoga Country Club. The Matadors were short-handed due to illness, fielding only 5 players. At the end of 9 holes, the Titans defended their turf well. The Matadors gave a valiant effort but came up short by 15 strokes. Matador low scores: Meg Niu (41) and Tiffany Chen (42). Others: Flo Yang (48), Sonny Yiu (49), and Kate Yiu (52).

Meet Recap

In an away match vs. the Gunn Titans, the Matadors battled the afternoon winds at Shoreline Golf Course until the sun went down. Ball flight was a little harder to control and the wind sent scores a couple of strokes higher. The Titans defended their home course well, with medalist Lydia Tsai making an eagle on the par-4 hole #6 to post a 1-over 37. Senior Meg Niu led the Matador squad with a 42, backed up by senior Flo Yang and junior Tiffany Chen each posting 45. Senior Christine Park posted a 50, and freshmen Kate Yiu and Sonny Yiu each contributed scores of 53. Next up will be Saratoga at Saratoga Country Club.
